Westinghouse model H-126 vacuum tube radio refrigerator jewel: $75.00
This listing is for what appears to be an original condition un-restoredWestinghouse little jewel model H-126 or what is known as \"The Refrigerator\" vacuum tube radio receiver from the 1940\'s. This model has minimum issues for a for being approximately 80 years old and is a good candidate for someone looking to restore one for their radio collection. One physical issue that I see after a full inspection is the small round plastic frequency dial on the variable capacitor shaft is warped.as shown in the last photo. It will get hung up on the variable capacitor frame and slip on the shaft when tuned to the low-end frequency. The disk is not cracked, just warped. Being thin plastic like this retains a memory there are ways to straighten the disk out. There is small housing chips around the housing that account for the darkened dotsshowing paint loss in the photos and one slightly larger chip around one of the two handle retainers on the back side of the unit as seen in the next to the last photo. I did not see any housing cracks. As far as the operation of the circuit I powered it up slowly to 115 Volts AC over hours on a power varaic and I was able to tune in an AM radio station, however, the audio was distorted. The good news to that this circuit being an AC/DC circuit and the tube line up is in series all the tube filaments can be assumed to be good, and the RF and audio stages are working. I have no idea regarding the tube emissions status because I did not perform any other circuit testing. The dial light was also lit. All the resistors and capacitors will need to be checked and replaced as required as part of a proper radio restoration on a radio of this age. The cord and plug appear to original and may be usable based on the condition, but you be the final judge. Because of this items age I am listing this item AS-IS for display purposes or for parts or restoration with no returns. Please review all the detailed photos and ask questions if needed prior to offerding. This listing is for the lower US 48 states only. Note: I am in the process of downsizing at this time and will be listing items a few times during the week of all sorts of vintage transistor and tube radios, vintage parts, test equipment, ham radio communication equipment and parts, all types of vintage electronics with many items going back to the early 20th century so please check my 100% response since 1999, save me as a seller and check back often. If it\'s collectable, you will find it here. Thank you
