Walt Disney World 20,000 Leagues Nautilus attraction submarine blueprints, huge: $250.00
2 very large sheets Walt Disney World 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea Nautilus attraction ride vehicle blueprint prints. Each sheet is 96" long x 36" tall, black print on white. These are printed on high quality heavy matte finish paper from scans of original WED working drawings showing the earliest date listed in the title block as being February 16, 1971, and with final shop approval dates August 31, 1971 along with each approval supervisor's name including Roger Broggie's. The Nautilus submarine vehicle design at WDW was based on Imagineer Harper Goff's original concept design for the 1954 Disney film, and the attraction construction was supervised by Imagineer George McGinnis with the assistance of Bob Gurr. These ride vehicles began life at Morgan Yacht in Clearwater Florida, and were completed at Tampa Ship Yards in August 1971. Each sub was individually trucked to the WDW property near the very end of August 1971, so the final approval on these working drawings must have been made post site delivery. The attraction officially opened in Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom on October 14, 1971, and of course was permanently closed on September 5, 1994. sale is for the two (2) sheets displayed in the photos. The photo of the final constructed submarine is shown only for reference. These would be great for any serious Walt Disney World 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea attraction fan, and will need considerable wall space if displayed. Will be shipped rolled carefully in a sturdy mailing tube.
