While the film had premiered in Los Angeles onDecember 21, 1937... it finally opened in Australia on June 2, 1938.While the cover of this publication stole the show... the many movie stars andworldwide celebrities featured within give tribute to the influence ofHollywood... still, there is no interior reference of Walt Disney's upcomingblockbuster release in Australia.

"The Photoplayer and Talkies" was a moviemagazine celebrating the transition from silent films to motion pictures withsound.

• Features a full page tribute to Shirley Temple and her newest film, "Heidi" (referenced here as "Heidi of the Alps."
