Historic, genuinely field-used set of WWII/Korean War U.S. Military Issue AN6531 Aviator Sunglasses complete with its original personalized metal clamshell case.
This set is incredibly unique, featuring a true theater personalization on the front of the olive drab metal hard case. It is custom-stamped \"CAPT. KINGSOLVER\" along with a hand-etched Captain\'s dual-bar rank insignia above the name. The interior of the lid features the authentic vintage triangle trademark stamp enclosing a \"B\", confirming production/supply origins from Bausch & Lomb Optical Co.
Sunglasses Details:
• Lenses: True vintage green mineral glass teardrop lenses.
• Frame: Wire comfort bridge accompanied by a cream-colored Bakelite/plastic sweat bar.
• Temples: Classic wrap-around flexible wire cable (\"rat-tail\") ear hooks, which still retain their original fabric/textile comfort sleeve wrapping on the tips.
Condition Note:
This is a true combat/field-surviving piece showing authentic vintage wear. The metal case has substantial paint loss, surface scuffs, and natural oxidation/patina that highlights its historical field use. The glasses frames are solid; the hinges move correctly. The lenses show fine hairline storage/use scratches, minor edge build-up typical of age, and the nose pads show beautiful authentic amber aging. Please review all macro photos for a exact view of the condition.
