This is an authentic US Navy "Crackerjack" Dress Blue wool jumper dating to the late WWII or immediate post-war era (circa 1945–1946).What makes this particular piece a true collector's grail is the highly desirable custom "Liberty" embroidery hidden beneath the back sailor collar flap. Commissioned by a foreign port tailor, it features vibrant, hand-detailed silver, white, and red embroidery reading "SHANGHAI CHINA" alongside a beautifully detailed five-clawed dragon. These hidden custom details were proudly flipped up by sailors while on shore leave but hidden flat during inspection.Insignia & Details:Left Sleeve Rating Badge: Petty Officer Third Class (PO3) - Gunner's Mate (GM).
