WWII-era black-and-white military photograph showing a group of Italian servicemen posed with firearms and field equipment.
A particularly interesting military image because several weapons are prominently displayed. One serviceman holds a rifle across his chest while another soldier at right poses with a long firearm. Additional military equipment, web gear, ammunition/equipment pouches and uniforms are clearly visible.
The photograph came from the same group of Italian WWII military photographs as another photograph bearing the period identification “Frontier Guard Yugoslavia” and the date 12-11-43. This association is noted as collection provenance only; the exact location and date of this individual photograph have not been established.
The reverse contains period handwritten notation/signatures, but the complete inscription has not been confidently deciphered.
Original-style deckled/scalloped photographic edges.
Excellent subject matter for a collector of WWII Italian military photography, Regio Esercito uniforms, firearms, field equipment, Balkan/Yugoslavia-related militaria or wartime soldier photographs.
Exact unit, location and identities have not been established.
Sold exactly as photographed.
