Original 3 x 4.5 inch real photo postcard showing a German Heer (Army) soldier in uniform during the early years of World War II, approximately 1939-1942. The portrait clearly shows the Army cap eagle and cockade, breast eagle, collar tabs (Litzen), and shoulder straps.
The shoulder straps are plain and do not display regimental numbers or specialty devices, while the collar tabs are the standard Heer pattern worn by Army personnel. This black-and-white image does not allow the branch-of-service color (Waffenfarbe) to be identified.
Measures 3 x 4.5 inches with scalloped edges. Reverse is a standard postcard back with no writing or postal use.
