WW1 US Army 5th Corps HelmetThe helmet is marked with the US Army's 5th Corps insignia. The unit saw battle during WW1, including at St. Mihiel and Meusse-Argonne. Given the unit marking and wear, the helmet was issued and likely worn during WW1! The helmet, as was common, is British made and issued to a US Army soldier given the HS marking, which stands for Hadfield, Ltd, Sheffield (a British helmet maker active between 1916-1919).
Condition:Great, with some wear and the chinstrap is missing, but no major damage or other issues. The helmet is marked with a 5th corps insignia at the top and a flat A on the front, indicating the wearer was assigned to the 5th Army Corps during WW1. There is other black paint on the helmet that is starting to wear off.
These original, insignia painted WW1 Army helmets are getting harder tofind, especially in this condition, so don't miss out on this one!!
