Offered is a vintage 1930 postcard (dated from # at border) depicting a split view of Scottsville, VA Scenes: "Horseshoe Bend" on the James River / Valley Street showing Gas Station on corner. Photographic images by W E Burgess.
This postcard was published 5 years prior to Burgess' death. He had encountered a lot of heartache and he would die of a heart attack while doing a photo shoot in 1935. In his latter years, Curt Teich took over the publishing of his portfolio so that he could focus on the activity he loved and that kept him going after the deaths of his wife and son; with the help of an assistant, he did produce real photo postcards that resulted from his photo shoots. This card came direct from the Teich Archives.

As to our "standard operating procedures": Our normal shipping & handling time is three (3) days. We ship weekdays with the exception of US federal holidays. We will ship with either free shipping or calculated shipping ... it depends on the given scenario. Often, calculated shipping will include insurance - again, depending on the item. Payment is expected at time of purchase or close of sale, whichever is applicable. This also applies to "best offer accepted" transactions. Non-paying purchasers or buyers will be blocked from future transactions. The same goes for winning buyers seeking to have sales cancelled. That said, prior to the end of any sales, offers can be cancelled through the HELP section of . If respective buyers are found to be cancelling offers in an excessive manner, however, they will be blocked from future transactions. Shill offerding is not tolerated and will be reported.
