Spectacular vintage West German jumbo blown glass Christmas ornament, measuring approximately 6 inches overall.
This oversized mid-century ornament has an exceptionally elaborate design featuring multiple deep reflector indents, a turquoise/aqua and silver body, elongated hand-painted red and yellow panels, white painted squiggle accents, and a dimensional silver ball drop at the bottom.
The combination of the large bulbous form, multiple recessed reflectors and bold turquoise, red, yellow and silver color palette gives this ornament a fantastic Mid-Century Modern / atomic-era Christmas appearance.
A wonderful statement-size ornament for a collection of vintage European, West German or oversized Christmas glass.

Condition:
Vintage pre-owned condition with substantial age-related wear consistent with an older blown-glass ornament. There is visible oxidation/foxing and dark spotting to the silvered finish, paint and finish loss, scratches, surface crazing, discoloration and wear to the painted decoration.
The reflector indents also show age-related spotting and finish wear. The turquoise areas exhibit crazing and loss to portions of the white painted decoration.
Please review all photographs carefully, including the close-up photographs, as they are an important part of the condition description. No major crack or break is apparent in the photographs, but this is delicate vintage blown glass and is being sold in its present vintage condition.
Despite the considerable surface aging, the ornament retains strong color and has a dramatic display presence due to its jumbo size and unusual multi-reflector construction.
