A beautifully crafted statuette of the Virgin Mary cradling baby Jesus in her arms. She stands 9" all and is made of heavy celluloid/plastic material; the total heighth of the figurine and base is 10.5".
The figurine mounts on a 2.75" x 1.25" tall wooden base. As noted in the condition I don't believe this was originally glued to the base, so I didn't try to "re-glue" it on.
There are minor wear cracks on the very bottom (see pictures). These are not deep cracks and you can barely feel them. Possibly from a temperature change??
The label on the back of the base says it is from the China Handicraft Company in Kowloon, Hong Kong. This company started in 1971 and was dissolved in 1995. I believe this figurine is from the 1970's-1980's.
