This is a vintage toleware student desk lamp featuring a cream‑colored body with a metal shade accented with gold banding and a gold laurel leaf motif. The lamp includes a milk glass waffle‑cone patterned diffuser, a desirable feature that softens light and adds a refined, mid‑century elegance.
Standing 26 inches tall to the ring finial and measuring, from left to right, 17 inches including the tole shade, this lamp has a graceful, classical silhouette often associated with Hollywood Regency, Neoclassical Revival, and Traditional Colonial décor styles. Its combination of painted tole metal, brass accents, and patterned glass makes it a versatile statement piece suitable for entryways, living rooms, or bedroom décor. This lamp weighs right at 8.5 lb.Likely mid‑century (1950s–1960s).
The lamp is in excellent vintage condition, showing mild patina on the brass, which is typical and adds authenticity. The cream finish on both the lamp and shade is clean and shows very minimal wear, which is barely noticeable without the close-up photos. The gold detailing remains bright and intact. The glass diffuser has no chips, cracks, or repairs. Please review all photos, as they are integral to the description. Note: The light reflections and the surroundings shown in the photos of the brass parts were unavoidable.
Shipping note: To prevent damage to these during shipping, the center post, as well as the key-style switch, will be removed.
