Vintage studio pottery stoneware crock featuring a beautiful blue and olive-brown banded glaze with fine vertical decorative lines. The lower portion has a softly speckled gray-white glaze, while the interior is fully glazed with visible concentric throwing rings. The underside is unglazed, with a small square impressed maker’s mark reading JE. The maker has not been identified.
This versatile pottery vessel can be displayed on its own or used as a decorative utensil holder, vase, or countertop storage crock.
Condition: Vintage condition with a small chip along the upper rim that may have been previously repaired. The pottery also displays minor surface wear, natural glaze variations, and manufacturing irregularities consistent with handmade pottery. Please review all photographs carefully for condition details.
The crock was acquired with a large, heavily aged cork stopper displaying extensive cracking, deterioration, and darkened areas with suspected mold growth. The cork has not been cleaned, treated, or sanitized and is not represented as suitable for food storage or functional use. It is offered as an optional decorative accessory only, in its existing condition. The pottery will be cleaned prior to shipping, and the cork, if requested, will be packaged separately.
The crock measures approximately 8 inches tall, 5¼ inches across the upper rim, 4⅛ inches across the opening, and 5¾ inches across the base.
A coordinating smaller crock is available separately and is shown in one photograph for reference only. This crock is shown on the right hand side.
