Up for sale is a beautiful, highly collectible lot of five (5) authentic, pre-World War II vintage cardboard "Putz" houses. Unlike the common mass-produced post-war imports, these early 20th-century European pieces feature heavy, sturdy fiberboard/cardboard construction on pressed-mache bases with distinct character charm.
Each piece features the original, coarse, sugary mica glitter finish that gives them a stunning frosty appearance when caught by holiday lights. They are built with bottom factory cut-out illumination holes.
These pieces are in Very Good Vintage Condition considering they are nearly a century old.
• Structure: Cardboard bodies and bases remain firm and structurally sound with no heavy crushing or major cave-ins.
• Aesthetics: Vibrant paint colors (pinks, blues, forest greens) remain exceptionally bright. Mica glitter coverage is excellent and retains its vintage sparkle.
• Authenticity: All four pieces proudly retain their original circular "Made in Czechoslovakia" paper factory labels intact on the undersides.
• Hardware: Original wire hanging loops remain firmly attached to the rooflines for tree display.
• Please review all high-resolution photos carefully to accurately assess the exact age-appropriate wear, minor glitter shedding, and patina.
