Today I am offering this adorable vintage pottery piggy bank.
It is most likely the Holiday Fair brand Chalkware from the 1960s/70s era.
It is marked TAIWAN on the underside.
It reminds me of the Mexican pottery prizes you might win at a carnival back in the day.
It is neon lime green and decorated with pink roses and dark green vines.
The floral is done in raised relief.
Her tail curls up to create a back handle.
She had flirty big eyes with long exaggerated eyelashes and a sweet smile.
There are cream colored accents on her ears and snout.
She is obviously hand-painted and has some incised details such as her eyebrows.
This charming little gal measures approximately as follows:
- 4½" high
- 5" long from snout to tail
- 3½" wide from side to side
For her age she is in remarkably good vintage pre-owned condition.
She is steady and level on her feet.
There are no chips, cracks, repairs, or unsightly scratches.
There is no paint loss.
Her coin slot and tummy hole are undamaged.
There is obvious age wear to the undersides of her feet.
Some very minimal crazing, but nothing significant.
She does NOT have her original stopper.
Overall she is just pretty fabulous!
