This is an extremely unique, vintage tablecloth, estimated to be from the 1950\'s, possibly the 1960\'s. It is rectangular with a pretty, light pink center area, bordered by quirky illustrations of antique household items, including oil lamps, teapots, candles, picture frames, pendulum clocks, rooster weather vanes, coffee grinders, mugs, sugar bowls, pepper grinders, and more - these are represented in pink, yellow, green, and dark brown. The illustrations are bordered by scroll work motifs. This unusualdesignis printed on white cotton, leavinga crisp, white border.
It is like a 1950\'s designer imagined an antique farmhouse tea party, resulting in an item that is both Mid-century Modern and Primitive/Cottage-core. It\'s kind of Barbie Dreamhouse meets Dolly Parton Cabin.
Dimensions, total table cloth:57 inches wide (or 4.75 feet)73.5 inches long (or 6.125 feet)
The pink rectangle in the center is:23 x 35 inches (1.9 x 2.9 feet) if you include the filigree border around it,and 21 x 33 inches (1.75 x 2.75 feet) if you do not include the filigree border.
Alternate uses, if not for a table covering:
The tablecloth would be great for photo shoots, or as a backdrop for product images to fit specific antique, retro, home ware or kitchen brands.
The fabric could be cut and used for its individual images/color blocks for sewing and crafts. Make a pocket with a teapot, cut out roosters for collage, etc.
Lastly, this fabric would make a great ISpy game for very young kids.
Condition:The table cloth is in wonderful vintage condition. It has has very minor areas of thinning on the fabric in a couple locations, less than a cm in size - see photos with quarter for comparison. There are two tiny gray dots near the very center of the pink rectangle. I tried removing them and they won\'t budge (they may be printing defects?), but they are hardly noticeable - see photos with quarter for comparison. The threads on some edges are irregularly sewn, but sturdily tied off - see photos. Otherwise, there are no stains or tears that I can find. The tablecloth has been freshly washed, and is from a smoke- and pet-free home. Please let me know if you have any questions before ordering. I am just a regular person, de-stashing my personal collection of vintage items, and I hope to help you however I can.
