Vtg MCM Blue Agate Wood 6 Coaster Set Pen Holder Mini Trinket Ring Pill Box For Sale

Vintage Mid-Century Modern wood and blue agate accessory set featuring a complete set of six coasters with holder, coordinating pen/pencil holder, and miniature lidded trinket box.

A striking coordinated vintage set combining warm stained wood with inset slices of richly colored blue agate. Each piece of stone is naturally unique, with variations in color, translucency, banding and pattern. Two of the coasters are especially beautiful, featuring prominent pale crystalline centers.

The set includes:

• Six round wood-framed blue agate coasters, approximately 3 1/2” diameter each

• Round coaster holder, approximately 4 1/2” diameter × 2 3/4” tall

• Square pen/pencil holder, approximately 2 3/4” across × 3 3/4” tall

• Small round lidded trinket/ring/pill box, approximately 1 7/8” diameter × 1 3/8” tall

The coaster holder and small box have blue felt/velvet-type lining, and the pen holder shows old ink residue inside consistent with its presumed original use.

Condition: This set is being sold in its existing vintage condition and shows considerable wear from age and use. The wood has scratches, scuffs, areas of finish loss and other surface wear. The dark paper/felt-like coverings on the undersides of the coasters show significant deterioration and loss. The blue lining inside the coaster holder is soiled/stained, and the pen holder has old ink staining/residue inside. The agate has scattered surface marks/scratches along with natural variations, inclusions and lines associated with the stone’s banding. The agate pieces have been inspected and no cracks were found. Please review all photos closely for condition.
