Charming vintage Inarco Japan ceramic planter featuring an adorable big-eyed spotted fawn resting beside a stylized palm tree and small cottage or tropical house. This whimsical design is a great example of the colorful novelty ceramics produced for the American market during the 1950s–1960s.
The planter features a glossy ivory ceramic body accented with rich green, brown, pink, and black hand-painted details. The wide-eyed deer, oversized palm tree, and tiny pink-doored house give the piece a wonderful mid-century kitsch appearance.
The recessed planter opening can be used for a small plant, succulent, air plant, bottle brush tree, or simply displayed as a decorative figurine.
