Yes, this is some thick leaded crystal.My mother purchased this item sometime during the 1970s, probably from Penn Traffic in Pennsylvania. That store was sold in 1982. Mom had a penchant for saving boxes and many receipts...this time she didn\'t remove the price tag from the bottom of the box. It states the item was $9.98, but my mother never ever ever paid full price for anything, so it was probably on sale.
