Today I am offering this fabulous vintage Cathrineholm of Norway 11" Orange and White Lotus Enamel mid-century modern bowl.
This striking large Cathrineholm enamel bowl features the iconic lotus pattern, designed by Arne Clausen, with crisp white leaves set against a vibrant orange background.
Made in Norway during the 1960s, this extra-large statement piece is a highly sought-after size for collectors of Scandinavian retro design and Mid-Century Modern kitchenware.
The spectacular enamel coating retains its original glossy finish, and the contrasting vivid colorway makes it a standout display piece for any modern home or CatherineHolm collection.
It measures approximately as follows:
- 11" across the top opening
- 4½" deep
- 4½" across the flat underside base
The bowl is in beautiful, vintage pre-owned condition.
The surface has a deep shiny gloss.
There is a small rough spot where the enamel is chipped on the edge, both inside and out in the same place on the rim.
It is about ½" wide, as you can see from the close-up picture next to the ruler.
I provided this photo so you can see exactly what I am describing.
This is very common for enameled pieces, especially of this age. It's an unfortunate flaw.
However, it does not detract from the impressive presentation of the bowl.
The interior is clean, the graphics are bright, and there are no major chips or deep scratches disrupting the main design, other than what I have described.
The underside has some superficial surface scratches but nothing horribly unsightly.
Again I have included a close-up picture so you can clearly see the flaws.
