Item Description:

• Vintage or antique embroidered Chinese soft and floaty silk textile
• Very fine silk with wonderful all-over embroidery of a peacock + flowers with leaves
• The textile is gathered with wrapped woven flat ribbon + has two doubled tassels
• There are also unattached cords between the ribbon and tassels
• Laying flat, the piece measures 13 inches tall x 20 inches when spread out a bit
• The gathered opening measures 16 inches across; the wrapped ribbon is 5 inches
• My initial thought was a bag or reticule, but then I thought nightcap or bonnet
• I couldn't find anything similar during searches - maybe someone out there knows?
