Large stoneware mug commemorating the 250th anniversary of this brewery, located in the Kreuzberg Monastery in Germany. Dated 1981. Brewery was founded in 1731 by Franciscan monks.
Very good condition, only used for display. There is a small spot of blue transferware writing/paint on the front that is a bit lighter than the rest of the mug, but it appears to have been made that way. Please see photos. The front picture is framed with hops and vines and shows a picture of the monastery brewery. There are a few spots of transfer color underneath the glaze, just the way this type pottery was made.
