Vintage Murray Allen Tin Candy Box with Handle
• Origin: Made in England
• Dimensions: 4 1/2 inches tall and 3 1/2 inches in diameter.
• Design: Vibrant red metal base featuring hummingbird and floral fan graphics, finished with detailed gold trim accents.
• Era: Mid-Century / 1960s lithograph tin art.
• History & Charm: Tins like this were rarely thrown away. Back in the 1960s, a family enjoyed the original candies from this very box, and instead of discarding it, they gave it a second life. It was repurposed to hold instant coffee, becoming a beloved part of their morning coffee ritual and used every single day.
• Condition: Seriously vintage, rustic condition. Shows heavy wear, surface patina, scratches, and aging. The interior remains uncleaned and still contains dried instant coffee residue at the bottom. Sold strictly as-is for collectors who appreciate an authentic, aged look.
