Key Collector Highlights:

• The 2009 Milestone Year: Both pieces are distinctly signed and dated on the bottom of their shoes from 2009—the benchmark year Bill Jaeger won the prestigious Gold Medal for Woodcarving from the Vesterheim National Norwegian-American Museum.
• Authentic Signatures: The wife figure features the classic "BJ 09" script inscription, while the husbandfigure proudly bears the full "JAEGER 2009" signature.

• True Matched Pair: Finding a complementary husband-and-wife set carved in the same year by Jaeger is rare, making this highly desirable for serious folk art collectors.
• Masterful Technique: Jaeger spent nearly two decades teaching at the American Swedish Institute. These figures perfectly display his master-level command over flat-plane carving—using deliberate, sweeping knife strokes to create geometric character and texture without relying on sanding.
