Vintage 1964 YUM-BURGER Advertising Red Wooden Spinning Top Toy Clown Hamburgers NOS
FRESH ESTATE FIND! From the recent high-end collection of a gentleman who spent his life collecting the very best old toys – mostly new old stock. At the sale, his son told me his dad once went to Springfield, Missouri to pick up a large collection of antique wood tops and Duncan yo-yo’s… this item came from that purchase.
It is a sealed plastic bag, containing a red wooden top, including a plastic tab wound full of red string and ready for spinning.
Excellent advertising graphics on the top – a clown holds a tray of yummy hamburgers over his head. Which makes sense, because the restaurant they were made for was called yum-burger. It was located at 937 S. Glenstone Ave in Springfield, MO.
I did a little research and found that this restaurant opened at that location in 1964 – see the last photo, which is for information purposes only and not part of this listing. This was likely made for their grand opening, and and lost in storage for decades.
I see no makers mark, but a lot of the items from this collection were made by Duncan, so I think there’s a decent chance they made this top. And those odds are higher than normal, because I just found the *exact same* logo on a little Duncan Junior yo-yo…for sale separately.
You get the exact item shown in the photographs – I tried my best to show through the plastic bag what it looks like. Excellent vintage MIP mint in package condition. No returns, so kindly ask before offerding if you have any questions.
