This is an authentic vintage 1956 Motorola Model 56A tabletop AM tube radio featuring the iconic mid-century \"Jet Age\" or \"Atomic\" industrial design, measuring approximately 7\" x 5\" x 4.5\" and designed to fit perfectly as a functional accent on any retro MCM kitchen counter, desk, or display shelf.
Condition:
Good, restored vintage condition and powers on beautifully. The internal tube chassis has been plug-tested, powers up safely, and the original tubes glow brightly with zero burning smells or smoke. The volume knob adjusts cleanly and the dial tuner functions smoothly. Please note: The black plastic cabinet suffered a single-piece break on the top right side during a past transit. This clean chunk has been professionally re-glued, sits perfectly flush, and the cabinet is back to being 100% structurally solid and intact (see close-up photos).
Features:
Manufactured in Chicago, Illinois, by Motorola Inc., this model is famous for its compact styling, horizontal front speaker grille, and distinctive \"steering wheel\" style cream-colored control knobs. The backboard is fully intact and features the complete factory wiring diagram, Model 56A stamping, and the built-in \"PLAcir\" plated circuit chassis hallmark. A highly desirable, stylish piece of 1950s Americana that is ready for light use, a full electronic restoration, or placement as a premium mid-century modern interior decor prop.
