🏮🏮Vintage 1956 Econolite "Historical Race" Steamboat Motion Lamp – 100% Complete & Working🏮🏮
A spectacular, fully functional piece of 1950s mid-century Americana—an original Econolite "Historical Race - Robt. E. Lee & Natchez" motion heat lamp stamped and dated 1956. This rare novelty lamp operates completely on thermodynamics; the gentle heat from a standard bulb causes the inner cylinder to spin, creating a gorgeous moving illusion of rising smoke and flickering water.
Item Details & Exceptional Rare Features:
• 100% Authentic Matching Set: Both the outer shade and the inner metal-top cylinder are officially stamped with matching 1956 Econolite Corporation copyright marks.
• Rare Glass Diffuser Shield: Includes the original frosted white glass bulb cup/shield, which is almost always broken or missing on these units.
• Perfect Center Pin: The internal metal center balancing needle pin is perfectly straight and sharp, allowing the cylinder to spin flawlessly with zero wobble.
• Original Core Base Label: Features the original vintage Underwriters' Laboratories (UL) paper inspection safety label intact on the metal core.
• Outer Shade Dimensions: 10.5" Height x 6.25" Diameter
• Inner Cylinder Dimensions: 9.6" Height x 4.5" Diameter
Condition Report:
• Functionality: Fully functional! Spins smoothly and strongly entirely on its own once warmed up.
• Graphics: The lithographed wrap artwork remains exceptionally bright, vivid, and colorful with NO burn-through holes or dark scorch marks.
Vintage Character Wear: Shows expected age-related plastic heat distortion, including a smooth indentation/warp along the upper right shoulder and a minor hairline split at the very top rim seam (all clearly highlighted in the close-up photos). It sits completely level on its original gold open-work metal base
