Vintage replica of Michelangelo’s \"La Pietà\" by R. Leoni Made in Italy 4” Tall For Sale

This ivory-colored figurine is a vintage replica of Michelangelo’s \"La Pietà\", signed and produced by R. Leoni in Italy. The sculpture portrays the Virgin Mary cradling the body of Jesus Christ after the crucifixion, a renowned scene originally carved from Carrara marble for St. Peter\'s Basilica. Made by R. Leoni and marked on the back with \"R. LEONI\". I believe it is crafted from hard resin, though some high-end editions are made from Italian Alabaster or a bonded marble compound. Sits on a marble base. In a pretty good used condition, but please see photos to judge for yourself.
