Vintage boy & girl figurines Set; blue wash gold accents; 8\" tall Japan? For Sale

This is an interesting vintage pair of figurines. I have no idea of the age or manufacturer but I purchased these approximately 30+ years ago at an estate sale and have had them displayed in my cabinet ever since. I am downsizing and looking for a new home for this enchanting couple. My guess is that they may have been made in Japan with the blue wash color on the front and none on the backs. They are highlighted with gold accents. It appears there may have been felt bottoms on them that someone removed at one time looking for some markings. The pair stand 8\" tall and have great detail.
