Vintage German beer stein manufactured by Zöller & Born during the West German period.This decorative Munich souvenir stein features a combination of detailed raised-relief and colorful painted/transfer decoration depicting famous landmarks of München, including the Frauenkirche and Rathaus.The body has a rich dark brown glazed background with cream-colored raised scrollwork, floral decoration and architectural scenes. The main illustrated panel is marked “München Frauenkirche u. Rathaus.”Finished with an ornate hinged conical metal/pewter lid featuring embossed floral and scroll decoration and a decorative leaf-form thumb lift.The underside carries the distinctive impressed triangular Zöller & Born maker’s mark along with a blue “WESTERN GERMANY” stamp. Zöller & Born began production in 1956, placing this example within the West German production period of approximately 1956-1990.Very good vintage condition overall. No obvious chips, cracks or repairs are visible in the photographs. The lid, hinge and thumb lift are intact and show normal age-related wear and patina.
