37 3/4" x 24 3/4"
Vintage Westinghouse School Service educational wall charts featuring The Vacuum Cleaner (No. 4), The Electric Iron (No. 7), and The Electric Percolator (No. 8). An interesting set of vintage electrical and household appliance history, featuring detailed technical illustrations, diagrams, and educational text explaining the science behind everyday appliances.
Produced and distributed by School Service, Westinghouse Electric & Manufacturing Co., Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The charts belong to a series on everyday electricity designed to aid in the teaching of science. The exact publication date has not been confirmed, but the company imprinted address and vintage graphics make these likely early to mid 1940s. They are an interesting group for collectors of Westinghouse memorabilia, industrial design, vintage advertising, and educational ephemera.
Each chart features a contrasting dark panel with cream lettering and detailed illustrations, with red accents on the electric iron and percolator charts. All three retain the original matching metal hanging rails and hooks on the top of the posters.
Condition:
Overall good vintage condition, with normal age-related shading and discoloration to the paper. One or two charts may have some light tears at the ends. Additional signs of age and handling may be present. Please look closely at all photographs for the exact condition, details, and imperfections.
