Vintage WWI RPPC Soldier at Tent Camp Dugout Embankment AZO Real Photo Postcard For Sale

Vintage WWI RPPC Soldier at Tent Camp Dugout Embankment AZO Real Photo Postcard.Postcard DetailsA vintage real photo postcard (RPPC) of a World War I camp scene. In the right foreground a smiling American soldier in wool service dress, breeches, and puttees stands beside the guy ropes of a large wall tent, one foot up on the bank. A wide dug embankment, part trench and part excavation, crosses the middle of the frame; beyond it stand several more soldiers, one bare-chested, and a row of pyramid tents is pitched under the trees in the background. No place, unit, or names are given anywhere on the card. The divided back carries the AZO stamp box, with all four triangles pointing up on this example, the style used from about 1918 to 1930, confirming a genuine real photo postcard from the end of the war or the years just after. The back is unposted and blank.Condition NotesThe photograph is sharp, with good detail in the soldier's uniform and the tent ropes. A thin vertical light streak runs through the image at the center; it appears to be in the original negative or print rather than damage to this card. There is a small tan stain at the bottom edge near the bottom right corner, and light corner and edge wear, the bottom left corner lightly rounded. The back is blank with light toning, faint speckling, and a tan stain patch at the right edge. No writing or postmark.Shipping and Handling◆ Packaging: Shipped securely in a protective plastic sleeve with card stock support inside a white envelope.
