This is an authentic Vietnam War "Short-Timer" stick, a classic souvenir carried by U.S. troops approaching the end of their service in-country. Unlike some later versions that used bullet shells as tips, this is a fully hand-carved wooden piece, showcasing the traditional craftsmanship of local Vietnamese artisans.
The handle features a classic roaring dragon head, intricately detailed with two faux pearl inlaid eyes..
Authentic Markings: The shaft is hand-engraved with "V-N" (Vietnam) and traditional tribal/geometric banding around the grip area.
Original All-Wood Finish: The stick is carved from a single piece of dense hardwood (likely Rosewood or Mahogany) and does not have a metal or brass tip, preserving its original rustic, hand-made aesthetic.
Excellent vintage condition. The wood is solid with no major cracks. The carving remains sharp, and both pearl eyes are securely intact. Please see photos for a close-up of the craftsmanship.
