Vintage Jackson Products U.S.A. fiberglass hard hat with outstanding original military personalization.
The front is hand lettered “SSGT HANDLEY” beneath a colorful hand-painted tiger head emblem. The reverse is lettered “NCOIC POWER PRODUCTION.”
“SSGT” denotes Staff Sergeant and “NCOIC” denotes Noncommissioned Officer in Charge. The Power Production marking strongly indicates use by a U.S. Air Force power-production specialist/supervisor.
The tiger artwork is particularly interesting. The 391st Tactical Fighter Squadron, historically known as the “Bold Tigers,” is one possible connection, but I have not been able to document that this particular tiger design represents the 391st, so the exact unit attribution is unknown.
Manufactured in the USA by Jackson Products. The fiberglass shell retains its original suspension and Jackson Products marked sweatband.
Measures approximately 11 inches front to back.
Condition: Used vintage condition with scratches, scuffs, surface wear and age-related wear throughout. Light wear/loss to the painted lettering and tiger artwork. The interior sweatband shows cracking, tears and deterioration from age. Has not been cleaned. Please examine all photographs closely for condition.
