Vintage Toledo Spain “Colada del Cid” Decorative Sword – Ornate Hilt – AS ISVintage full-size decorative Colada del Cid sword from Toledo, Spain, styled after the legendary sword traditionally associated with the Spanish hero El Cid.This is an especially ornate display example featuring a gold-tone sculpted hilt and pommel, black cord-wrapped grip, decorative swept guard and a long steel-colored blade with elaborate black and red ornamentation. The blade is prominently marked “Colada del Cid” and incorporates “TOLEDO” into the decorative blade design.This sword has been in long-term storage and is being sold in its existing unrestored, as-found condition.IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTE: One of the curved branches/terminals of the decorative guard is broken and a portion is missing. The broken area and exposed metal are clearly shown in the close-up photographs. Please review these photos carefully before purchasing.The sword also shows age-related wear including surface oxidation/rust spotting, discoloration, scratches, finish wear and deterioration/wear to portions of the decorative hilt and grip. The black cord wrapping remains present but shows age and wear.The sword has never been cleaned, polished or restored by me as I am not an expert in preservation and wish to leave that up to the buyer.
