Crafted from solid carved hardwood, the box features a pointed oval (navette) silhouette. The exterior is decorated with intricate geometric mother-of-pearl (nacre) triangular tesserae inlay, accented by delicate inlaid pearl dots along the perimeter.
The box is fitted with decorative brass appointments, including an ornate pierced fleur-de-lis front latch/clasp, a top decorative metal plate with a cast finial handle, and sturdy brass hinges along the back. When opened, the interior reveals smoothly gouged and contoured solid wood wells in both the base and lid, perfect for rings, jewelry, or cherished keepsakes.
