Vintage Solid Brass Masquerade Face Mask Hand Painted India Wall Decor 6\" For Sale

Striking vintage decorative face mask crafted of substantial solid brass and accented with colorful hand-painted details. The stylized theatrical/masquerade design features a polished brass face, dramatic black eye surrounds, bright red lips, and an ornate crown-like headdress decorated in muted pink, copper, gold and lavender tones.

The dimensional casting gives the mask considerable depth and sculptural presence. At approximately 2 pounds, it is an unusually substantial decorative brass piece for its compact size.

The reverse retains its original “SOLID BRASS – MADE IN INDIA” label, confirming both material and country of origin. Blue ribbon ties are attached at the sides. Based on comparable Indian decorative brass masks, this piece is believed to date approximately to the 1970s–1980s.

These Indian brass masks were produced as decorative theatrical and masquerade-inspired objects and make distinctive additions to eclectic, bohemian, Hollywood Regency, maximalist or global-inspired interiors.

Condition:
Good vintage condition with age-appropriate surface wear, patina, scratches and areas of wear/loss to the painted decoration, particularly around the eye area and raised surfaces. Please review photographs closely as they are an important part of the condition description.

Original blue ribbon remains attached. Maker is unknown; the piece is labeled Solid Brass Made in India.
