Vintage Simex Star Finder and Identifier, formerly USN HO 2102-D, produced by the Coast Navigation School in Santa Barbara, California. This is a genuine vintage celestial navigation instrument designed to help navigators identify and plot navigational stars using altitude, azimuth, latitude and meridian information.
This set includes the black Simex storage case, star finder/planisphere, multiple transparent altitude-azimuth templates, meridian template, instruction sheet and the separate "Using the Star Finder" reference disk. The instruction sheet is marked ©1973 Coast Navigation School, with the accompanying reference disk marked ©1974 Charles A. Whitney.
