Add a touch of vintage charm to your home with this delightful silver-plated kitten shaker caddy featuring two playful kittens perched on an elegant tufted cushion. This substantial, heavy cast metal piece was made in Taiwan and is believed to date to the 1970s–1980s.
Based on its design, this piece is believed to have originally held two removable glass salt and pepper shakers (not included). The original glass inserts have been lost over time, but the holder remains a beautiful collectible and display piece. It would also make a unique ring holder, vanity organizer, trinket display, or whimsical shelf décor. It could also look amazing with taper candles as a candle holder!
The sculpting is wonderfully detailed, from the expressive kitten faces and curled tails to the ornate tufted cushion and decorative bun feet. The silver-plated finish has developed an attractive vintage patina that enhances its character.
After extensive research, I was unable to locate another example of this exact design, making it an especially fun and unusual find for cat lovers, vintage kitchen collectors, or anyone who enjoys unique decorative pieces. Similar vintage cat-themed shaker holders and silver-plated animal table accessories remain popular with collectors.
