Vintage Shapleigh Hdwe Co St Louis Christmas Tree Celluloid Pocket Knife For Sale

Vintage pocket knife distributed by the prominent Shapleigh Hardware Company out of St. Louis, Missouri. This piece features a striking and highly collectible multi-colored "Christmas Tree" celluloid handle pattern that remains in immaculate cosmetic condition without the typical outgassing or shrinkage issues common to early synthetic grips. Equipped with a two-blade configuration, the carbon steel cutting components are full and well-preserved. The smaller secondary pen blade retains intense, powerful mechanical backspring tension with an exceptionally strong snap action. The larger master clip point blade functions but is lazy on the draw, showing weaker spring retention. The structural construction is incredibly tight, boasting absolutely zero side-to-side blade wobble or play within the liners. A crisp, deep "SHAPLEIGH HDWE. CO. ST. LOUIS, MO." stamping is fully visible on the master blade tang. The carbon steel surfaces present an authentic, unpolished vintage look with widespread age-related patina and areas of light surface oxidation staining. The closed pocket knife frame length measures exactly 3 1/4 inches.
