Vintage Schering Etrafon “Portrait of Anxiety/Depression” pharmaceutical advertising figurines, sold together as a lot of three.
These vintage drug-representative promotional pieces reproduce ancient Mexican figures associated with Nayarit and Tlatilco cultures.
The two reddish figures appear to be terracotta or clay. The center Tlatilco figure seems to be made of a lightweight molded composition material with a painted finish. All three are mounted on wooden display bases.
The bases are marked:
• Nayarit, Mexico—c. 400–800 A.D.
• Tlatilco, Mexico—c. 1300–700 B.C.
• Etrafon 2-10 and Etrafon 2-25
• Etrafon—brand of tranquilizer-antidepressant
The tallest piece measures approximately 5 3/8” tall including its base.
Good vintage condition overall with surface wear, discoloration, scuffs, scratches and finish loss consistent with age. The figures have natural texture, small surface lines and manufacturing irregularities. Please examine all photos closely for the exact condition.
All three figurines shown are included and will be carefully packaged for shipment.
