Item Description:Up for sale is a beautiful, authentic example of vintage Native American blackware pottery from the Santa Clara Pueblo, handmade and signed by recognized ceramic artist Martha Mirabal (born 1946).This 4.5-inch piece is a classic \"plain ware\" bowl, highlighting a modernist, minimalist silhouette. The deep, rich metallic black finish was achieved entirely through traditional wood/dung reduction firing and hours of meticulous stone-polishing before entering the fire.Provenance:
This bowl comes directly from a private family estate collection. It was originally purchased by the seller’s parents during their regular travel car trips through Arizona and the Southwest to visit family in Tucson during the late 1970s or early 1980s. It has been carefully cared for in a single, smoke-free home for decades. Because the artist later moved to the Taos Pueblo and dropped the origin name from her signature, the full \"Martha Mirabal, Santa Clara Pueblo\" incised signature firmly dates this to her prime early-to-mid career era.

Condition Report:

Structure: Sound with no cracks, large chips, or amateur repairs. The rim and base are in excellent, stable condition.
Surface: The body features a brilliant, high-gloss stone-polished sheen.
Note on Wear: Under bright, direct light, there is a faint, curved circular scratch on one side of the polished exterior. It can be slightly felt with a fingernail but is minor and doesn\'t detract from the display quality. When placed on a shelf in normal room lighting, the bowl presents beautifully. Please review the high-resolution macro photos under bright light to see the exact condition.
