This is a Record No. A151 adjustable spokeshave, made in England. "RECORD" is cast into one handle, "ENGLAND" and "A151" are cast into the other, and the blade is stamped "Record No A151."
The spokeshave has a cast body with blue painted handles, a flat bare steel sole with a narrow mouth, a blade held by a slotted cap screw and a knurled cap, and two knurled adjusting screws that set the depth of cut. Each handle end has a hole for hanging.
Condition is used. The blue paint is mostly intact, with small chips and wear along the handle edges, and the sole shows light scratches and a few small rust specks. The metal parts are clean and the adjusting screws appear complete. The blade has not been sharpened or tested. Sold as pictured.
