Vintage Rayo No 39 WB Railroad Lantern Standard Oil Co Clear Dietz Glass Globe For Sale

This is a vintage antique Rayo No. 39 WB (Wire Base) railroad-style tall globe brakeman\'s lantern made in the USA during the 1920s to 1930s for the Standard Oil Company.

Condition:

The lantern is in very good vintage condition with a solid, clean galvanized metal body and wire cage showing a nice silver-gray aged patina with minimal surface oxidation. The bottom fuel tank/pot is structurally solid with no holes, deep pits, or oil leaks. The clear glass globe stands exactly 4 and 3/4 inches tall and is embossed with \"DIETZ\" in the center crest; the glass is fully intact with no chips, cracks, or heavy clouding. Functionally, the wick raiser assembly turns smoothly and adjusts the thick cloth wick perfectly, but please note that the outer circular decorative metal thumb-knob/turn-wheel has broken off the outer end of the rod.
