Vintage Mitterteich Bavaria porcelain commemorative collector plate honoring Pope Pius XII, titled 'Pope of Peace.' The center features a beautifully detailed hand-colored portrait of the Pope in prayer wearing red robes, signed 'Pius PP. XII' beneath the image. The plate is decorated with a golden papal tiara, delicate palm branches, embossed rim border, and a scalloped edge finished with a rich gold trim. Marked on the reverse with the Mitterteich Bavaria backstamp, 'Germany 052.' Includes the commemorative dates: March 2nd 1876 - October 9th 1958, marking the birth and death of Pope Pius XII. A wonderful piece of Catholic religious memorabilia and mid-century German porcelain. Measures approximately 12.5 inches in diameter. In excellent preowned condition with only minor gold trim wear.
