This is a set of 2 vintage paperback cookbooks each containing 100 prize winning recipes from the 7th and 9th annual grand national bake-off from Pillsbury.
The 9th edition is from 1957 and features \"Accordian Treats\" as the grand prize winner. A notable finalist debuting this year for the first time was a recipe for peanut butter blossoms, the peanut butter cookie with a Hershey kiss. These older recipes feature fun nostalgic treats!
The 7th edition, from 1955, features the grand prize winner of \"Ring A Lings\" a sweet yeast roll with nut filling and an orange glaze. Of interest is that the grand prize amount was $12,500 but contestants could double their prize winnings by submitting a proof of purchase for Pillsbury flour. Bertha Jorgensen of Portland, Oregon received $25,000 as the grand prize winner and she used the funds to pay for her 18 year old son\'s college education and to buy a new home!
These books are in very good condition with no damage or markings on inside pages. The 9th edition has faint numbers on the cover and the 7th edition has an entry form inside the front cover with a perforation that is partially opened.
