Large original vintage snapshot photograph archive containing hundreds of small photographs stored in period business, subscription and advertising envelopes.
The exact photograph count has not been established, but each envelope contains numerous photos and the collection includes hundreds overall.
Most photographs are small black-and-white personal snapshots showing people, families, outdoor scenes and everyday life. A number of larger photographs are also included.
The original envelopes add considerable period character and include examples from companies and publications such as Outdoor Life, Curtis Publishing Company, Allied Radio Corp., Engineering News-Record, Radolek Company, F. W. Bolgiano & Co. “Capitol City” Seeds, Kaufman-Straus Co. of Louisville, Kentucky, and others.
This appears to be an old accumulated personal photo archive rather than a recently assembled dealer lot. The photographs have not been fully researched or individually identified.
Mixed vintage condition with age toning, edge wear, curling, stains, creases and other normal signs of age and storage. Envelopes also show varying wear, including some tears and staining.
Excellent group for collectors of vernacular photography, found photos, social history, vintage advertising, postal ephemera and mid-century Americana.
