Vintage Philippine Igorot Carved Wood Offering Bowls Water Dippers Pair 17\" For Sale

Beautiful matching pair of vintage hand-carved wooden anthropomorphic offering bowls or ceremonial water dippers associated with the Igorot/Cordilleran peoples of the northern Philippines.

Each large carving features a seated human figure with an elaborate pierced headdress above a long carved handle. The lower end terminates in a striking stylized human head incorporating a deep hollowed bowl or scoop. Similar Philippine examples are variously described as ceremonial offering bowls, water dippers, ladles and decorative vessels.

The figures have a rich dark brown finish with visible wood grain, deeply carved details and individually carved facial features. Their large size and matching design make the pair particularly impressive displayed together.

Measurements: approximately 17\" long × 5\" wide at the heads.

Good vintage condition with expected surface wear, scratches, scuffs and variations in the dark finish from age and use. One piece has a small chip/loss along the lower edge, exposing the lighter natural wood beneath; see close-up photos. Additional minor nicks and edge wear are present.
