Vintage Peterson System Standard 312 Smooth Briar Estate Pipe – Original P-Lip (13 cm)
An iconic, highly sought-after Irish estate pipe: the legendary Peterson System Standard Shape 312. Stamped clearly on the shank with \"PETERSON\'S SYSTEM STANDARD\" and fitted with the original factory-stamped \"K&P PETERSON\" nickel band.
Crafted from premium aged briar featuring a stunning 360-degree display of natural birdseye figure and vibrant flame grain under a warm amber-walnut finish.
Key Highlights & Peterson Patent Craftsmanship:
Famous System Technology: Engineered with Charles Peterson’s patented internal moisture reservoir that condenses moisture away from the tobacco, ensuring a remarkably cool, dry smoke.
Original P-Lip Stem: Features the famous patented Peterson Lip mouthpiece designed to direct smoke upward toward the palate, protecting the tongue from bite.
K&P Metal Ferrule: Fitted with a high-shine metal band for structural reinforcement and timeless prestige.
Perfect Ergonomics: Substantial 5.0 cm bowl height with thick, heat-dissipating walls and an ideal in-hand feel.
Professional Restoration, Hygiene & Health Safety Standards:
Chamber Preparation: Reamed clean down to healthy briar wood and sealed with a fresh micro-thin protective coating of natural activated charcoal to protect bowl walls and jumpstart cake development.
Sanitisation: Internal draft way, moisture reservoir, and bowl are thoroughly micro-flushed and vapor-sanitised with 99.9% pure Isopropyl alcohol.
Health & Safety Stem Preparation: The original P-Lip stem undergoes deep de-oxidation, micro-polishing, and complete hygiene sealing. Any minor historic tooth impression marks or repairs are stabilized exclusively using 100% certified medical/dental-grade, non-toxic, heat-resistant, and fully food-safe materials designed specifically for oral safety. The stem is smooth to the touch and 100% ready to smoke.
Surface Protection: Exterior wood is hand-buffed with museum-grade Renaissance Wax to preserve and protect the natural briar grain.
💡 Important Break-In Advice for the Buyer:
To ensure optimal long-term smoking performance from the newly prepared charcoal lining, we recommend conducting your first 2–3 smokes using a standard, neutral tobacco. This allows the bowl cake to bond evenly with the charcoal layer before enjoying your favorite fine pipe tobacco blends.
