This is an exquisite pair of vintage clear crystal/glasshurricane lamps, each with ten (10) hanging prisms (drop crystals) descendingfrom a scalloped bobeche. Each lamp featuresa heavy octagonal base, an urn-shaped body, a bobeche from which ten prisms descend(each consisting of a faceted octagon & a spear), an electric candle-shaped bulb,and an ivory-colored electric cord with an inline switch (equal-sized prongs). The switch is marked “Leviton” and“6A-125V-3A-250V UND. LAB. INSP.” The hurricaneshades, urn-shaped body, and octagonal base are decorated with indented and etched flowers,leaves, and vines.
Measurements: Eachlamp is 18 ¾ inches high, base 6 ¾ inches wide, weight 5 lbs. 9 oz. Each prism is6 inches long. Each shade is 8 ¼ incheshigh.
Condition: Excellent used/vintage condition. No cracks. Thereis a very tiny chip on the rim of one shade (found only by runninga finger around the rim. See last photo.) The candle-shaped bulbs have some areas in which the gold-colored/frostedcoating has worn off. The electrical wiring& switch work, but the buyer may want to replace the vintage, non-polarizedplug with a modern polarized plug.(Please note that vintage pieces may have some wear. This is considered desirable evidence of age. See photographs.)
N.B.: Shipping: These glass lamps combine heavy bases with fragile glass shades plus ten 6” drop crystals on each lamp.To ensure safe shipping, they have been well packed in two boxes: Box 1contains two hurricane shades and twenty prisms. Box #2 contains the two main bodies of thelamps with base, shaft, urn, bobeche, & the electric “candles” with cords. The drop prisms can be easily re-attached byinserting the metal “hooks” in the metal loops attached to the glass beboche. (Prismswere removed to wrap each crystal securely to avoid damage.) Because does not allow calculated shipping for more than one box, I had to use a flat shipping rate to the lower 48 United States. For more distant locations, ask seller.
